A Plymouth catalyst is a part of a car's exhaust system. At the same time this component is known as the "catalytic converter".

The catalyst consists of a stainless steel cylinder through which the exhaust gases pass. The Plymouth catalyst surrounds a ceramic core shaped like a "honeycomb". Its interior is covered with different materials such as: alumina, radium, palladium, etc.

  • The converter is washed thoroughly with a strong jet of hot water (at home, a caustic compound can damage a sink or bathtub).

  • All actions must be performed again after prolonged drying and repeated purging of the unit.

Gasoline, acetone, alcohol and other household solvents are not recommended for rinsing.

Fuel additives help clean the catalyst without removing it, however, you should only use proven products and only for certain car models. Incorrect formulation for your engine and catalyst model can lead to even more damage.
